Here is a brief introduction about myself.

Who is Alvin Sim?

Alvin Sim is an software developer and IT multi-tasker who loves art, music, movies, coding and Linux/Unix.

Where are you from?

Kuantan, a small town at the East Cost of Malaysia. Now I am residing in Kuala Lumpur.

What do you do for a living?

I am a Java developer and I did ASP.NET in my first programming career.

I also do simple Oracle Database (10g) and AIX maintenance.

Photoshop and Illustrator are also my forte. You can view my portfolio at my site.

What do you think of your future?

Happily married with kids and pets and able to work from home.

What do you listen to?

Mix of everything from Metal to Classical. I like Rock but I also listen to the other music genres except Pop, “Feng tao”, and Opera.

Do you read?

Yes. I read mostly magazines. My favorites are Linux For You, Wired, Times and I’m a new fan of the local Comic magazine, Popcorn.

I do read books too which are mostly fiction.

For reading materials regarding everything IT, I download and read whitepapers and IBM’s redbooks.
